Isn't food important? Why not "universal food coverage"? If politicians and employers had guaranteed us "free" food 50 years ago, today Democrats would be wailing about the "food crisis" in America, and you'd be on the phone with your food care provider arguing about whether or not a Reuben sandwich with fries was covered under your plan.

Don’t tell Ann but the US government does think food is important enough to create not just one program but many to try to get food to people that need it.

So besides that fact, she made a great analogy! As far as I can tell these programs have done nothing to prevent my ability to eat Reuben sandwiches with fries in America. If anything they made them even more fatty. Woot! Getting more cost effective food in the US was a goal of... Nixon. Which is why food stamps expanded under him and cheaper calorie foods like HFCS came from this. What a liberal bastard that Nixon. I wonder where Ann lives where the Government isn't active in the food industry from huge government subsidies to grow it to regulatory bodies checking to see the food we eat is safe?
