A pledge to my daughter; should it ever come to pass.
I promise you that no matter what horrific things life brings us, I will be there to support you and help you heal. I will never be ashamed of you; I will never cast you aside.



I felt compelled to post this based on this awful story of a gang rape of an 8 year old girl. In addition to her horrific experience, "Detectives said the girl was placed in the custody of Phoenix child protective services after the attack because of her parents' attitude toward her."

I know most parents would support their sons and daughters through anything; may such things never come to pass in our lives.
