Seems that Wall Street isn't all that concerned with Health Care Reform

As it gets closer to passing, the markets are up nearly 10% over the past 8 trading days.

Either A) Wall Street is rallying because they know it is NOT going to pass.... or...

B) Wall Street is rallying because they know it WILL pass.... or....

C) Health Care Reform debate is having no bearing on the markets at all.

I'm actually putting my money on B. The traders know that Health Care Reform will ultimately help American businesses. The fact that it also helps American people is immaterial to them.

The GOP is against it because a win like this will INCREASE Obama's political capital and they can't afford to let that happen.

2. They know that IF health care passes
It'll look so much like the current system, that there'll be no financial hit.

If there's a true public option, the entry will be very limited.

The public option plan will have no power to negotiate prices from providers.

And anyway, so many Dems are in the pocket of Big Health, Pharma, Insurance, that it probably won't pass anytime soon.

This is the best time to make this change in 60 years, and we'll settle for a tiny bump. Maybe a bump in the wrong direction. True single-payer is out the window, check again in another 60 years.

:wtf:

4. Nobody is talking about
how this bill affects small business. Many of them are being incentivized to have even lower revenues. And that is good for the big business boys on Wall Street.

5. Yes...
The hidden benefit to business. Massive potential savings in the service industry on healthcare premiums that have been out pacing and swallowing whole most of the money that is allocated for employees.

6. Insurance/Pharma Bubble > Taxpayer Bailout > Inevitable Single Payer
I know they want their turn at the trough, but can't we just bail these fuckers out now and get on with it?
