Here's the RW "Concerned Doctor" email, courtesy of my insane brother
I have a very hard time believing that my brother actually wrote this e-mail. While he is smart enough to become an oral surgeon, and is chock full of conservative vitriol, it just doesn't seem like him to follow through with something this long.

He told me a few weeks ago that it's time for him to find another career, because once health care reform passes he will no longer be able to provide for his family. Should have thought of that before having SIX kids between two wives, and one hell of an alimony to pay off his first wife!

Anyone else seen this? It must be a form letter from some RW talk show nutjob.

I'm even going to get into everything that's wrong with it, just shaking my head thinking of his very liberal teenage daughters' reaction when they get this.

Oh, and "May God Bless the Republic of the United States of America!"

Subject: URGENT! - Health Care Reform

In the next couple of weeks, our Government will vote on Heath Care Reform, eventually railroading all of us into a single payer, government sponsored system. We already have government sponsored healthcare in this country in the form of Medicare, Medicaid, The Veterans Administration, and Indian Health Services. I have worked in/for/ around these systems for the past 21 years, and I will tell you that these are among the most inefficient systems that I deal with on a daily basis. If you hate your current private insurance carrier, dealing with them will feel like a day at the park compared to dealing with a government sponsored system.

I only know a few things about this Bill that have leaked out, but these few things are nauseating enough to make me take a Patriotic stand against it. The things that I know that are FACT are:

1) You are told that if you like your current healthcare, you can keep it. That is true to a point - that point being until your coverage changes or your company goes out of business. At that point, you will not be able to get on another paln. You will be forced to join the government plan! If you get married or have a child, you will not be able to add them to your plan! They will be forced onto the government plan. This will eventually eliminate the private healthcare system altogether. I thought we were trying to create jobs in this economy, not destroy entire industries.

2) Seniors will be required to undergo "End of Life Counseling" to discuss options other than life prolonging care with such items as life sustaining nutrition and antibiotics. The only option that I am aware of other than life prolonging care is DEATH! So our hard earned tax dollars will be used to pay someone to tell us when we need to die in order to save money!

3) During committie hearings in Congress, there was an opportunity to exclude coverage for illegal immigrants and this opportunity was not taken! So we will be funding a health plan that gives us the same coverage as illegal immigrants! If illegal immigrants are granted full healthcare benefits, this will break the financial backbone of this country! Additionally, House and Senate members as well as Federal employees will not be required to sign up for this plan. If this plan is to be so great, why don't they want it?

4) There is a provision in this bill to cease construction of of Doctor-owned Surgery centers and call for the halt of expansion of existing Surgery Centers. Surgery Centers were designed to provide lower cost healthcare more efficiently, and as an added bonus - they make a profit! The only possible motivation that I can imagine for this provision is to limit the income of Doctors. They have already limited income for bank and financial executives, auto executives, and now they are after the Doctors. YOUR INDUSTRY MAY BE NEXT!

5) In order to fund this program, taxes in some states are predicted to go as high as 57%! Some of us will lose our homes with tax rates this high, all in order to replace a system that we already enjoy with a less efficient system that will tell us when we are costing too much money to continue living!

6) Medicare and Medicaid funding are being cut at a time when their reimbursement levels are so low that it make acces to care for these patients nearly impossible.

I have a simple solution to this problem:

1) Leave the private sector alone! We have the best healthcare system in the world! The reason it is so expensive is because we are able to do so much, so rapidly!

2) Increase the funding for Medicare and Medicaid to make their reimbursement levels competitive enough that doctors want to see these patients. Increased funding can be attained from tax deductible contributions from a private investment group comprised of George Soros, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Oprah Winfrey, and all of the other Hollywood Elitist Liberals who have campaigned so hard in favor of this program for all Americans (except, of course, for them). The profits can be used to pick up the shortfall of the programs. It is time for these Elitists to put their money where their mouth is.

3) Increase the funding for public healthcare clinics for preventative care with profits from #2 above. Welfare recipient's paychecks must be tied to bringing their children to these public healthcare clinics for preventative care as well as the submission for drug testing which can be performed at the same clinic. If you don't bring your children in for preventative care and you don't pass a drug test, you don't get a paycheck. Welfare recipients must be held accontable for something - at least for the care of their own children.

4) If an uninsured American citizen suffers a life threatening illness or accident that results in financially crippling healthcare bills, he or she may apply for govenrnment aid for that treatment of that condition only (not for a lifetime). This can be funded by #2 above.

5) I'm sorry but it must be said - no free healthcare for illegal immigrants. If we stop giving them free healthcare, they will stop coming for free healthcare.

It is imperative that we stop this Administration's action NOW! Please call of e-mail your Congressman or Senator and express your sentiments today! Click on the links below to contact your Senators and Representatives:

www.senate.gov or www.house.gov

If you disagree with this e-mail, I apologize for wasting your time. Don't bother contacting me for a rhetorical discussion as I am too busy working to support my own family and to pay my taxes.

If you agree, pass this on to anyone who you believe is Patriotic enough to fight for their Liberties and Freedom!

xxxx,

Thank you for your amazing response this past week to another effort to kill the so-called “Fairness” Doctrine. The MRC Action team responded brilliantly—urging the House Rules Committee to bring the Walden-Pence Broadcaster Freedom Amendment to the floor for a fair up-or-down vote.

The fight continues to get this done, and we won’t quit until the “Fairness” Doctrine is dead and buried.

MRC founder Brent Bozell has recorded a very special video message updating the Action team on the Broadcaster Freedom Amendment and much more. Simply click here to hear Brent’s message to you.

+ + Congress Racing to Get “ObamaCare” Done!

Despite the fact that most Americans have serious reservations about “ObamaCare,” Congress is charging ahead at lightning speed to pass their government-run health care scheme before the August recess!

It's obvious that they don't want us to understand the impact this so-called “reform” will have on every America 's access to quality health care.

A recently released CNN/USA Today poll confirmed that the vast majority of Americans have real concerns about current efforts to overhaul our health care system...

* 81 % believe health care overhaul will reduce their quality of care

* 79% believe “ObamaCare” will limit their choices of doctors or treatments

* 82% think their health insurance coverage will be reduced

* 84 % believe “ObamaCare” will increase their health care costs

* 84% say a government-run system will sharply increase the federal deficit

And why are our lawmakers ignoring the very people who put them in office?

Health care “reform” is a Trojan Horse—an opportunity for the government to take more control over our lives, and they are counting on the media to pave the way!

This poll, and other important news stories that dare to tell the truth about “ObamaCare” are either ignored or underreported. The vast majority of media outlets are in the tank with liberal lawmakers and the President, refusing to look at the facts and instead choosing to do whatever it takes to rush this 1,000+ page bill through Congress! (most of the media haven’t even read the proposals – click here for more on this)

That’s why we created ObamaCareTruth.org.

It’s the one site where concerned citizens can get the truth about Obama’s socialist health care plans. Updated continuously with the latest news and commentary, ObamaCareTruth.org boldly exposes the truth about the proposed government takeover of your personal health care decisions that the liberal media simply aren’t interested in reporting!

As the health care crisis intensifies, we are urging members of our team to visit the site everyday, and to encourage friends and family to do the same. This is far too important an issue, and one that left ignored and unchallenged could radically change our lives forever!

Thank you for standing with the MRC to fight for Free Speech and to get the truth out on ObamaCare!

David Martin

P.S: Please be watching your email for a VERY special message next week on how you can personally impact “ObamaCare” and the media’s role in selling it to America .

************************
This is almost as bad as before the election when I was being bombarded by conservative emails.
These people do not give up and are spreading major lies.
Do we not have some kind of plan to counter this?
I loved the response email templates we had pre election to this mass forwarded stuff. It helped me debunk
so much propaganda. I need help again. Something happened to me after the election. I feel like I used up all my energy and I have felt deflated since if that makes any sense. I do make the phone calls but I just have run out of gas. I need my batteries recharged I guess.

8. Yeah, he's an "Interesting Specimen" all right...
People like my brother are feeling backed into a corner right now, and assholes like Glenn Beck and Hannity are only fueling their paranoia. I'm expecting some serious Michael Douglas in "Falling Down" scenarios before this is all done. My brother says he's done being a dentist if this bill passes - he currently makes $300K+/year in a fairly small town. Greedy bastard!

17. He came out this way from the very start...
My family is a great argument for nature vs. nurture. I came out crazy liberal, he came out crazy conservative. We've both been who we are from as early as we could express ourselves. Our other two brothers are somewhere in the middle. We all had the same parents and same upbringing, but came to very different conclusions and attitudes about life. Strange and fascinating!

23. "Done being a dentist?"
What's he going to do, then? Become a ditchdigger? Oh, I can only make $150,000 a year, so I'm going to quit to become a... 7-11 clerk. (That's giving him the benefit of the doubt here, since I don't think even single payer would decrease his income by half).

Sorry, but your brother is a dumbass.

When America elected a black guy I admit I was happy, though I knew Obama was not our friend in practice. But it is a predictable reaction that conservatives would spray code words for all kinda cayzee after that.

25. RWers have a permanent hard-on for the term "Republic." They love that "U.S. is a republic" game....
Google "United States," "republic" and "democracy," and check out the dozens of RW posts that prattle on about how the U.S. is *really* a republic, and NOT a democracy because blah, blah, blah, etc.

In their simple little with-us-or-against-us, black-and-white minds, republic and Republican are the same and mean something good; democracy and Democrat mean something bad.

They'll even jump up and down and wet their pants insisting that the WWII-era German Nazi Party was "liberal," (????) since the German handle was Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (National Socialist German Workers’ Party). If it has "socialist" in the name, then it *must* be, in the same way Fox is "fair and balanced." It'd be funny if they weren't trying to rewrite history with their simplistic, uneducated garbage.

And never mind that Iran identifies itself as an "Islamic Republic," and that Saddam's personal SS was known as the "elite Republican Guard." They MUST be Republican, right? I mean, that's what they call themselves!

20. He's started bottling his own Barbeque Sauce to sell
Apparently the guy who started KC Masterpiece was a dentist who threw it all away to sell sauce - very inspirational to my brother. How he thinks he can make more money selling sauce than by being a dentist is beyond me, but I'm not going to question it. Problem is, he's got kids aged from 2 to 20, and he's going to have to support them somehow.

22. sounds like a plan to ditch those particular obligations, at least those with the ex.
And the ex. If he's cooking sauce in the garage, all the income will be self-reported and he can probably show a loss for a few years.

If that's what he's doing then I'm sorry, I don't think I like your brother much.

Does wife #2 have an income?

19. They always call it a "healthcare system"
We don't have a national "healthcare system".

If a person has money, they can buy health insurance to cover their medical bills. That's not a system, that's an opportunity to purchase coverage.

It's like discussing our nation's "homeowner's protection system" to protect against fire. It's called insurance, and if you can't afford it you'll take the loss if it burns. (how dare I ridicule the local fire department, we have the best firemen in the world.)

In both cases, without insurance you'll lose your home, but neither is a national system operated by the government.

...yet

21. Anything with government imposed limits or standards is a system
If those limits have any effect on one's earning potential it's an evil and un-American system.

And if you can't afford it you don't deserve it. That's why you work hard in life - to have more than everyone else and be able to pass judgement.

24. Some doctors are worried they won't become millionaires as quickly as they
can now, and won't be able to afford their affluent life style. That's a large percentage of the anti-health reform movement right there.

One obviously does not have to be very smart or a decent human being to be a doctor.
