Forty Years Ago Today, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin opened the door that made it possible for
Michael Jackson to walk on the moon. Or was it do the moonwalk. I heard he did one of those things, I'm not sure which. It was of the two though, of that I'm sure.

1. Which is quite curious, because I watched Armstrong's moon walk
and don't remember ever seeing him sliding backward while seeming to walk forward.

Maybe I was reaching for the popcorn at the moment.

2. No, that was NASA that was sliding backward while seeming to take one small step forward.
And their giant leap only lasted about three years, and then the US gave up on human space exploration outside of LEO.

Maybe NASA's name should be changed to NADA. ;-)

4. LOL. Nice segue.
And I agree. Hell, I fully expected a Mars mission before now, and thought in '69 we'd have a permanent moon base by the turn of the century.

3. It is a curious but incontrovertible fact that
the moonwalk can only be done on Earth.

Go figure.
