Next Gopher Gov. To Be Involved In A Sex Scandal...?
I say they're referring to Arnuld, don't see why this would be such a big, 'gasp' surprise.

“An escort who was hired by Eliot Spitzer claims to have worked with another married governor.

Another gubernatorial sex scandal may be looming. Even as South Carolina's Mark Sanford waits to see whether his wife, Jenny, forgives his romp in the pampas, a New York call girl could plunge one of America's most prominent governors into a fresh hell.

T]he elegant blond courtesan, whom we'll continue to call "Annie," is talking about three "dates" she allegedly had with another state's chief executive, who we'll call Gov. X."

According to the escort, this mysterious other governor has a wife who "is quite prominent in her own right." Her madam corroborates the account; his spokesman has denied it.”

8. Didn't Know That
I call all of them gophers because they never really see the light. Sorry to get your hopes up/ He, Pawlenty, seems to staid to be involved with anyone, bur I would've said that about Sanford too. However I don't know that his wife is prominent.

We are, after all, the "Gopher State".

Pawlenty's wife is a judge - would that qualify for "prominent in her own right"? Otherwise I'm betting Ah-nold because Maria would certainly fit the wife comment.

10. At least they're giving sex workers some respect in using the phrase . . .
"worked with." That's a welcome development.

As to who it is (if there's any there there at all), I'm not sure I care, unless it's a dem, which would break the recent 'Lican monopoly on these sort of scandals.

Surely dems aren't keeping their pants on more consistently than 'Licans? That would be ahistorical, not to mention against human nature.

13. Dark horse: Lingle (HI)
she's been dogged from Day One by rumors that she is gay. I don't necessarily buy into this, myself -- I'd much rather our first gay governor not be a fascist Ahh-nuld wannabe -- but I heard a state employee, a female, even, make jocular reference to this at a meeting last month!

Not Der Gropenfuhrer.

Ahnold is too old, and isn't "handsome enough to be an actor," he IS an "actor" of sorts.

45. Michael Is The Guy Who Made A Date & Picked Her Up In The Red Car
At the hotel he introduced her to the gov, before taking her upstairs. He made another date but when she opened the door it was the gov. instead of Michael, though Michael
Spitzer has nothing to do with this.

If she'd have said "dumpy and looks like George Lopez," we'd have all guessed him.

My guess, and this is a wild card, Bob Erlich, former Governor of Maryland. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Erlich. I'm hoping that it's not O'Malley, who does have a prominent wife. However, he was elected in 2006.
