Joe Lieberman signs an idiotic letter on health care

Congressional Budget Office Director Douglas Elmendorf wrote that the House health care bill would increase the cost to the federal government:

"In the legislation that has been reported, we do not see the sort of fundamental changes that would be necessary to reduce the trajectory of federal health spending by a significant amount. And on the contrary, the legislation significantly expands the federal responsibility for health care costs."

No kidding!

That is why the House bill raises taxes on the rich, to pay for those costs.

But Joe Lieberman signed a letter which refers to "premiums and administrative costs" and then declares that Elmendorf found that current proposals "will not reduce costs."

Elmendorf was writing about the cost to the federal government, not the cost of premiums.
