"We want it all...we want it now..."

Everybody wants to go to heaven but nobody wants to die. Everybody is waiting for their just reward. They have waited patiently for so many years and now, they feel it is time to cash in their chips.

The poor folks want jobs and health insurance. The gays want equal rights, including the right to marry. The wealthy want to keep what they feel they have honestly earned. Everybody wants something and they want it now.

Since Barack Obama has become the President, everyone seems to feel that this is the time to act on their dreams. There is no need to wait any longer. The time has come. We want it all and we want it now.

5. This is because so many of us know that when the
republicans are in power, we will not get anything. They will take what we have, even if it is very little. They will loot our possessions and take our rights. They are the Vandals, the Goths and the Visigoths of modern society.

People look to Democrats to restore order and social justice.

I don't want to see anyone wait for equal rights, either. I understand the urgency. But if anyone has a right to be first in line, it is the poor and those without health insurance. Jobs and health care are a matter of life and death.

I have a roof over my head. My husband is employed and we have insurance and some money. I am not a minority whose rights have been ignored. I can't speak for those who are in that position. I can only suggest that anyone who can be an activist in some way, or who are in a position to educate someone else, PLEASE do something. Learn how government works at all levels. Help someone in your community. It might make the wait easier, and speed us toward solutions.

If you think I am a pollyanna, too bad. I have been an activist for awhile, and understand how frustrating it can be. Don't give up.
