Report: Bush admin 'blacklisted liberal groups'
http://rawstory.com/blog/2009/07/report-bush-admin-blacklisted-liberal-groups/

n a blow to the notion of meritocratic government, applicants to the Justice Department's internships and Honors Program were widely rejected if their resumes included the names of liberal groups on a departmental blacklist, the Washington Blade reports.

According to an internal Justice Department report from 2008, while the policy was in place from 2006 to 2007, "candidates to the Honors Program whose applications indicated liberal affiliations were rejected at a high rate, around 55 percent, as opposed to candidates who had conservative affiliations, who were rejected at a rate of about 18 percent," the Blade states.

12. Really. The whole * White House was about exclusion and punishment of anyone
who didn't think exactly like them. It was disgusting to watch from Canada.

So a department of neo-con Christians means "no liberals need apply?"

I wonder if there's a lawsuit there...

4. And even more important, how much of the DOJ remains the same?
Seems that the Obama DOJ probably retained much of the Bush DOJ. Nice, isn't it?

7. Hasn't it always been a tradition for an incoming administration
to ask for the resignations of ALL US attorney's appointed by the previous administration. Then they (the new guys) can decide which if any of these attorney's they want to keep.

Selective use of this policy is of course what got Bush and Gonzales into such a jam. But I don't remember ever hearing such a request from the Obama DOJ. Did I miss something.

10. Yes, exactly. It's not like the place was neutral to begin with
I cannot fathom why he would consider keeping that rancid toxic group around.

11. Yesterday there was a thread that they blacklisted GLBT groups. What about conservative GLBT groups?
Were they blacklisted?

Inquiring minds want to know.
