Sotomayor VS Rush "Lard Ass" Limbaugh

Two liberal groups are jumping on the Sotomayor bandwagon, using disparaging comments Rush Limbaugh made against her to rally Hispanic voters in Florida.

The groups are targeting two central Florida Republicans with Spanish- language radio and TV spots demanding they denounce Limbaugh.

The ads take on U.S. Rep. Adam Putnam, the former House Republican Conference Chairman who is now is now running for Florida agriculture commissioner. They also attack Rep. John Mica, up for re-election in 2010.

In the ads, an announcer says Sotomayor's nomination is a proud moment for Hispanics, but that Republican leaders insist on attacking her. Then comes Limbaugh's voice saying Sotomayor "doesn't have any intellectual depth. She's got a -- she's an angry woman, she's a bigot. She's a racist."

The announcer urges listeners to contact Putnam and Mica and demand they denounce Limbaugh.

The ads are sponsored by two organizations: Progressive Change Campaign Committee, which is led by staff from the liberal group MoveOn.org, and the nonprofit presente.org. Presente, which seeks to mobilize Hispanics online, is the brainchild of the Berkeley, Calif.- based Citizen Engagement Laboratory.

I am so happy that there are, at last, a few liberal groups that have the balls to chuck their tweed hats and to finally state the obvious.

3. I wish DUers would stop using fat as a slam.

We have some among us who are of beautiful mind and spirit and morbidly obese. Using weight, or even looks in general to notate ugliness, unworthiness etc is hurtful. Granted, many people who have spent a lifetime being bullied over something like looks will tell you it's like water off a duck's back. But it can take it's toll none the less.

Slam him for his hateful views, slam him for his hateful actions. But the fact they guy is overweight is as completely meaningless as the fact that I am a "skinnie minnie" who can't seem to gain weight for nothin.

6. Look who's calling whom an intellectually shallow, racist bigot

This is coming from a right-wing drug addict with so much money he can afford to buy his way out of a jail sentence. If it were Judge Sotomayor instead of Rush Limbaugh who were caught on charges of prescription drug fraud, she'd be rotting in a Federal penitentiary for 20 years minimum--because of her ethnicity and gender!

Rushie is blind to the fact that wealthy white conservative males get off with a slap on the wrist for the same crimes that would lock up a poor white, a woman, or a member of a racial and/or ethnic minority for years.
