1. I don't care very much
Very few people read my drivel, er, stuff anyway except when I talk about my gay cousin, who still isn't posting in here, or my gay neighbors, who still aren't married. So it really doesn't matter to me. Others may have differing opinions though and that's fine. This is America after all and we should have opinions and freedom to discuss things.

3. agreed
except for a tiny urge to vote unrec when a thread has lots of posts, it has no impact on me. Oh, and I usually resist the urge unless silliness seems appropriate.

7. It's useless
You have to open a post in order to unrecommend it. And then anybody else who wants to know the plus or minus on the recommendations has to open it as well.

And really what's the point? I'm here first to learn things and secondly to once in a while add my opinion. I don't give a rats ass whether or not a post has been recommended.

Why would anybody? Skinner should fix the occaisional service lapses on DU instead of wasting his time on silly shit like this.

9. I don't care. It does appear to have cleaned up a few pointless posts...
but I've always been good at avoiding posts that don't interest me. I just don't care to whine about every little thing when overall, this site is
absolutely fabulous! You just have to seek out and find the things that interest you and avoid the rest. Then again, I'm not one who posts much
or expects to get a huge response when I do post. I learned early on that this site can be as prickly as it is friendly. Why let it bother you?

10. I don't care
I never paid attention to the greatest page or bothered with recommending anything. The kerfuffle sure is interesting though... I knew some people here are entirely too self-absorbed, but holy flippin cow. Seems only fair to have a thumbs up AND thumbs down option anyway rather than just one or the other. That's how it works with every other forum I've seen. A thumbs up or shut up option isn't fair, is undemocratic and ripe for abuse (which is apparently why unrecommend was added).

13. The fact that your straightforward question has been unrecommended ...
says it all. You sought an opinion, and did not do so in "push poll" fashion; yet like a pre-adolescent in a candy store, some can't resist the lure of the unrecommend tab. It's a joke.

14. I'll vote "I like it" but I would like to know how many unrecs!
"Less than Zero" is pretty cool, but "negative 100 votes" for trolls, haters and doomers would be even better.

Finally, a vote for those who think a thread is unworthy of appearing anywhere!

Unrecommend is the best feature here.

Threads about how DU works aren't "great" IMO

22. The unreccomend feature means as much to me as Yakov Smirnoff's career
In other words, it's a non-factor/issue. I'm truly baffled by the uproar about it, and I still am, especially since I never check the greatest page and don't base my self-worth on wether anyone recommends or unrecommends a post of mine. It's silly to me, and I'm never going to understand otherwise.
