i bet....

Cheney Is Linked to Concealment of C.I.A. Project

The Central Intelligence Agency withheld information about a secret counterterrorism program from Congress for eight years on direct orders from former Vice President Dick Cheney, the agency’s director, Leon E. Panetta, has told the Senate and House intelligence committees, two people with direct knowledge of the matter said Saturday.

The report that Mr. Cheney was behind the decision to conceal the still-unidentified program from Congress deepened the mystery surrounding it, suggesting that the Bush administration had put a high priority on the program and its secrecy.

Mr. Panetta, who ended the program when he first learned of its existence from subordinates on June 23, briefed the two intelligence committees about it in separate closed sessions the next day.

Efforts to reach Mr. Cheney through relatives and associates were unsuccessful.

1. Investigate, Indict, Incarcerate
And make sure he gets the fair trail, even though he doesn't believe others should.

5.  he's a mere criminal.....investigate, indict & incarcerate
i think we're seeing just how powerful mr cheney is. he has a new democratic administration that is scared to death to prosecute him. it's awe-inspiring.

did cheney spend eight years collecting dossiers on those who now are called on to prosecute him? is he blackmailing the government? so many questions.

31. Consider this -
we now live in a world where the guy Cheney shot IN THE FACE apologized to Cheney.

And it went right on by, as if that's how things work.

Somehow, we've all down through the looking glass, and I, for one, don't like it on this side............................

6. When did it become acceptable
for the Vice-President to order around the CIA?

He had to have told them that he was acting on direct orders from the President.

And, if that's true, well, isn't that interesting?

And, if that's not true, well, isn't that interesting?

13. Its never acceptable

And it shows that Bush isn't as stupid as people thought. He probably gave Cheney a vague verbal order and let Cheney go to town sending out damaging memos.

When it all comes out Cheney will be holding the bag and Bush will walk away.

25. It's rapidly approaching the point
at which, if President Obama turns a blind eye to this, the outcry will be deafening.

Then again, it already is, isn't it?

Time for patty-cake (aka bipartisanship) is over. George W. Bush and Dick Cheney pissed all over the Constitution. Maybe he doesn't care about that, but I sure as hell do.

30. We all do, Oh, She Of The Trampy Name -
we do, and we're all in the right. There aren't many scenarios in this life that are black-and-white, right-and-wrong, and, as a lawyer trained by Jesuits, I have no choice but to see as many sides of a situation as humanly (and sometimes inhumanly) possible.

But, in this one, it's simple.

They did wrong.

On its face, the Fuckface presidency is littered with illegal activities, and they're rapidly becoming more and more provable (the evidentiary aspects of all this has always troubled me), and more egregious. Maybe I'm reaching my saturation point, or maybe what they did really is more hateful than I even suspected.

But, the path to prosecution is blocked by political realities, and that is troubling to the point where I have tears of frustration in my eyes as I write this.

The bald political truth, as articulated perfectly by Jon Turley on "Countdown" the other night, is that no current administration wants to take any prior administrations to task for what they did, simply out of the concern (fear) that someday they might be held to that very same standard for things they might do while in office.

Nixon and Watergate were anomalies, public illegal acts that led to the Oval Office through the most bizarre series of incidents and two dogged reporters who never let the story go. Today, we have no break-in, no convicted burglars looking to a judge to make a deal, no journalists who are willing (or able) to put in the hours, days, weeks, months of work and shoe leather involved in getting the story together. In the face of us now having the Internet(s) tubes, the most sophisticated forms of record-keeping and communication in human history, we fail, because we don't have people who will do the scut work involved in putting a story together.

Ah, ironies abound, and keep me from breaking down completely.

More will keep coming out, the outrage will be palpable, but it will dissipate, and life will go on. Nothing will be done, books will be written, books filled with lies and distortions and rationalizations, and no one will be able to disprove anything. Not that it would go anywhere, but it would have been nice.

They're going to get away with all of it.

All of it..............................

Who are the sleepers he left behind at CIA?
