Thank you Randi Rhodes, for helping Matt Drudge with his job!
Edited on Sat Jul-11-09 01:06 AM by Adenoid_Hynkel
Her five-year old petty grudge was picked up by some rightwing blogger and passed on to Drudge's site today:

RHODES (34:52): The reasons that I have for thinking he (Franken) will make a terrible Senator are really valid. I’ve kept them to myself. I’ve not put them on the air. I let the man run without the burden of what I know, which is all documentable and researchable and you can find it on the Internet. Never said a word. Left it to the voters in Minnesota to find out. Left it to Norm Coleman to expose it if he did some background operational research he could have found a lot of stuff. Didn’t bother to do it.

It’s Norm Coleman’s fault. I tell you that I think Norm Coleman is a horrible Senator. I think he’s a horn dog. I think he’s a womanizer. I think he’s a liar and I think he’s a terrible senator.

Maybe it's time that she worked on her jealousy issues. If it's consumed her to the point that it sound like she was rooting for a scumbag like Coleman, it's pretty pathetic.

And what's with this adolescent, "I know stuff..." routine?

If she has such shocking dirt on Al, then let's hear it. Or is she just talking out of her ass again?

On the one hand you have Senator Franken, who, while not as far left as some may like, is respected by most progressive leaders and has a solid track record for our side.

On the other, you have an egomaniac, whose narcissism has cost her a job at two networks and has no problem undermining her party in order to advance some one-sided feud.

I know who I'm going to believe here.

Is it any wonder she irrelevant as far as progressive media goes? Never has someone's status as a pariah been more deserved.

2. Overall, I like Randi, but I have to agree. It's time she got over her
jealousy stuff.

4. so does this mean none of us should criticize or say we don't like
someone just because they're dems and we don't want to say negative things about democrats because drudge might post it?

please.

6. Criticize Fine...Put Up The Proof...
Rhodes claims she has bad stuff on Franken but doesn't disclose it...if she has something that demonstrates that Franken was some monster, crook or some other reason that would disqualify him for office, she should have put it out there. Let the people of Minnesota decide (as she said). She didn't...and now she's still carrying on? Sure sounds like some sour grapes to me. This isn't about criticizing, she says she has damaging information about him...if it reflects in his ability to serve, she should disclose it. If not, time for her to move on and get over it.

8. just a guess but
i vaguely remember her talking about when aar first started up and some of her regulars from her show in miami started going on al's show instead of coming back to hers. i think that pissed her off--that he was, intentionally or not, taking her regular guests away.

10. Actually, she isn't...
Mike Malloy has been very vocally against Franken, accusing him of using his power at AAR to force Malloy's dismissal and squelch overly-progressive sentiments in order to appeal to the "moderates."

Whether this is true or not, who can say? We can really only judge Franken by his record, and he's going to have a little more than five years, at least, to build it.
