Will Democracy Rise From The Dead On Easter Sunday?
Last week at a showing of the new film "War Made Easy -- How Pundits and Politicians Keep Spinning Us To Death," Norman Solomon and Cindy Sheehan spoke about the American table.

"Why is IMPEACHMENT 'off the table' and ALL OPTIONS FOR NUCLEAR WAR are 'on the table'? "

We need a new table.

As families gather round the table on Easter Sunday, the spirit of rebirth is celebrated.

For the religious, the Rebirth of Holy Spirit is celebrated in a man who had the courage and conviction to embody God's principles and love all humanity and all Life.

For others, the rebirth of Earth's spirit is celebrated in the Greening of Springtime and the arc of the sun in the year's sky; in the beauty and life-giving sustenance of the Earth.

The Son is Risen. The Sun is Risen.

What we hold in common in this nation used to be called the Commonwealth. It has been stolen from us. Even the notion of its existence has been removed from common knowledge.

Today is the rebirth of the truth of the power of love and the truth that we depend on this planet for our survival-- together. Pundits and politicians keep spinning us to death. As we celebrate the power of love, the power of the planet, and the power that we have in common

Let's set a new table.

3. About 150 years ago Abraham
Lincoln said "A house divided cannot stand." I think those words carry more significance now than they did then. When I realize in 6 short years we have come from being a "decent" country to utter chaos I want to give up. But I can't. When we have a media that tells us what to think or feel--Suzanne Malveaux being just one example, those of us who deeply desire our country taken back must not give up. Can we stand 2 more years of duplicity? I can't. I think a march on DC by millions of us may be the only thing we can do. Right now there is talk of impeachment. There is enough evidence already for impeachment. Why the pussyfooting around? Why not save ourselves now.

6. It has been 26 LONG years, not "6 short ones." It would help fix this, maybe even, PERMANENTLY
if that were understood.

Thom Hartmann talks about the rise of Reaganism (to where we are now) http://www.thomhartmann.com and Norman Solomon's film shows the continuous progression of the SAME propoganda, administration after administration, war after undeclared war, to "spin us to death."

The (recent) history is important-- it addresses the questions and issues you raise. :hi:

5. It is autumn in South America where democracy is already being born
Maybe the tides will someday wash it up Mexico way and onto our own neglected shores. Wouldn't that be nice for a change.

7. Si se puede
but the tides won't wash it up here. It has to come from within.
