Women spend nearly one YEAR of lives deciding what to wear
Choosing outfits for work, nights out, dinner parties, holidays, gym and other activities means the average female will spend 287 days rifling through their wardrobe. The biggest chunk of that time is used up picking a killer ensemble for Friday or Saturday nights out or selecting the right clothes for a holiday.

Experts found on average women spend 16 minutes every weekday morning deciding what to wear and around 14 minutes on a Saturday or Sunday morning.

...

The study - which was based on an adult lifetime from the age of 16 to 60 - found most women will spend around 20 minutes deciding what to wear before hitting the town on a weekend night. Week nights out can take up to 20 minutes a time too. Deciding on what clothes to take on holiday uses up to 52 minutes each time.

2. My Wife also spends alot of time
deciding what I'm gonna wear. If we go to a place where I gotta get "dressed up" I just wear whatever she lays out for me. And she buys most of my clothes for me. I'm fine with that, she likes to shop, I don't.

Mine insists on doing his own shopping and choosing. And heaven forbid I ever say "you're going to wear *that*", because by god he will even if it's a tuxedo t-shirt with a hole under the armpit. Yeah to all men who defer to their wives IF their wives have better taste.

25. Howie Long changed his suit last year on a "FOX NFL Sunday" broadcast
because his wife sent him an e-mail and said she didn't like it on him.

The other four guys gave him massive amounts of crap about "losing his man card", but she was right: It would be hard to find an ensemble that didn't look good on him, but that suit was awful.

In the meantime, he made points with every female viewer for being smart enough to listen to his wife.

33. My Wife
has much better taste then I do and I'm incredibly lazy when it comes to doing something as horrible and time consuming as buying clothes. The only problem I've ever had with her shopping was a couple shirts she got for me were a tad snug but she took em back and got the right size. She's my best friend.

35. Dude
Having your wife dress you is nothing to brag about. In fact, it is quite sad. There are a lot of stereotypes about Americans (men and women)that I do not agree with, but the stereotype that we dress horribly is oh so true. I used to be one of those fools who cared not about what I wore until I woke up and asked Andy.

48. My Wife
doesn't dress me, she picks out my clothes and she buys my clothes saving me the angst. I don't care what I wear so why should I spend time picking and buying? I think the wife does an outstanding job of "dressing me."

I try to avoid wearing tie-die or with my striped shorts.

Unless I'm at home.

10. I believe it...many women are soooo mush more fashion-conscious than men.
My girlfriend dresses nicely, but she's no fashion nazi.

I was dressing for work last week (this is the job where, after they instituted a "business casual" dress code, I spent 6 months dressing like (as described by some) a 1970's gay porn star). I put on a pair of dark blue cargo pants and was just about to put on a black polo when she said "You can't wear that shirt with those pants".

"Why?", I asked.

"You just can't wear black and blue like that."

NOW I understand why it takes her so much longer to get dressed...women have a flowchart to go through while we're just getting dressed.

15. Yeah, it is hard to decide if I wear a Tshirt with or without a pocket
Or if it should have a picture or a political message - those two decisions are if I am "dressing up." And if I am "dressing up" then I want my socks to match my Tshirt, which makes it even harder!

If I had to work in town and look professional, I would have a series of suits, jackets and slacks with man tailored shirts. Then it would be easier - and as a woman, I wouldn't even be stuck wearing a tie!

I only have six pairs of shoes (plus boots for winter) to choose among, as well.

Small wardrobe. Saves time AND money!

41. Wow...
I must be atypical. It takes me 2 seconds to figure out what I'm wearing. I don't like wasting time on that stuff. I go through my clothes 2x a year and donate what I haven't worn, or what doesn't fit-so I have a good sense of what's in my wardrobe.
I'm also a jeans-and-tshirt kinda girl on Friday and Saturday nights, so how hard can that be?

My husband is another story altogether. He takes forever to get ready.

I've never worried too much :) I also have a healthy sense of the "don't cares" when it comes to what other people think, you know? I always look relatively presentable, except on my vagabond work-around-the-house days.

But, I have two sisters that won't leave the house without makeup and accessories on. Ever. Going out with them is tragic...

it isnt so much gender adn the people that did the study just assumed as much. maybe there are just as many men that are particular on what they wear, the image they present and it will balance out a year for males too.

we dont know

sounds like study was just on women????

And that nothing we put on, nothing we do to our hair, NOTHING can change that fact. We would be much more sane as a race if we accepted the truth, instead of following the lies of the fashion and cosmetic industries.
