Land of the free? American Dream?
What is this mythical place? Ancient American texts report that this society once existed, but the elusive paradise has yet to be discovered. Historians have now concluded that it does not exist and was just a concoction by a group of militia men in the late 1700s. As the myth goes, there was a place where ordinary men and women could work and earn a living wage, save money, and buy a home and send their kids to college. While there is some evidence that there was a brief period of prosperity in select nations around the world, those were quickly drained by the aristocracy and serfdom returned as the norm. As is quite evident by the conditions today, such a place cannot exist. In order to establish such a society, there would have to be equality among all people, fairness, and honesty and truth would have to abound. The notion is quite ridiculous.

2. In order for it to exist we would have to identify to SOME degree with a SHARED set of VALUES and we

DON'T!

The impulse toward Secession is a manifestation of organically grounded, deep seated, and longstanding fundamental disagreements between so-called "Americans".

3. The Department of Law would have to get involved...
I mean, why have laws if they aren't enforced?

...there was a place where ordinary men and women could work and earn a living wage, save money, and buy a home and send their kids to college. Yeah, I used to believe this. Not any more...

the american dream is alive and well despite the naysayers.

and based upon the hordes that try (and often succeed) in entering this country surreptitiously, they believe in it too.
