This is how you know the press has gone too far with all of the celebrity deaths...

This morning on the Today show, a field reporter made a mistake and claimed Betty White was already dead and buried. Granted she is a bit old but.....

1. Heck, she is even in a new movie this year
at least I think The Proposal is a new movie. The plot seems a little ancient, and Sandra Bollock tired, but I do believe it is a 2009 movie. I hope I am as active as Ms. White when I'm dead and buried.

2. Probably the source of the mistake.
The reporter confused Betty White with Sandra Bullock's career.

4. Death = Ratings
It's one of the few "products" the corporate media can peddle today that draws a large audience. As more and more people turn to the Internet for news, the teevee grasps for things they can milk that the blogs can't and endless pyscho babble and tedius coverage of celebrity deaths are what draw the big numbers.

I didn't have any problem with the Jacko coverage as I avoided most of it. I control my media and teevee, not the other way around.
