She never forgets her flag pin...but
Miss Neo-Whack never wears a wedding ring.
Not much into symbols I guess

smack my hands! I don't know why I even posted this, she is a lame duck, dead fish and there is no purpose in promoting any story about her

1. I've been married sine 1970, but have not worn my ring for AGES
It's a channel-set with 12 diamonds, and the bottom of it got bent, and when the jeweler said they would charge by the diamond when they fixed it, I said no thanks, and put it in the jewelry box, and then a few years later it was stolen when we were robbed. (lost about $10K of heirloom inherited jewelry too..)

I never wear ANY jewelry now.:(

2. I don't wear my wedding band
I tell my wife its a chick magnet.

Seriously, I saw way too many safety films in the Navy to ever want to wear a ring of any kind.

3. I don't wear one either
but I am one of those liberals ya know.

I just find the "family values" symbolism missing ironic. ;)

4. The ole flag lapel thing cracks me up
Its worn by so many people who have never lifted a finger to do anything positive for our country, but by gawd they are patriotic.

7. I wasn't in one of the films, but I did have photos taken. While doing
a preflight in the wheel well of an EC 121, I slipped off the tire, ring caught on a grease fitting. Cut the ring off with wire cutters. Stitches in fingers really do hurt. Only wear ring if we are going out somewhere. That was about 1969.

5. Actually, Sarah has abandoned the American flag lately too
At least insomuch as using it as a part of her apparel. She's traded the American flag for a service pin. Apparently the American flag is now only suitable for draping over bar stools in photo shoots.

9. Those glasses are fake.
I have never seen a picture of her where the lenses in the glasses look like they are prescription. They do not distort what is seen through them at all. I believe she has normal eyesight and wears the glasses purely for cosmetic reasons, like a porn star who is portraying a teacher.

11. I did notice in an old pic of her when she did not have glasses on, she
was a little cross-eyed. It was back in her "television days." She definitely had an eye problem, not noticeable now.

14. Of course it does, it's a SERVICE pin, like I said - but she's abandoned the American flag
except to use as a prop draped over a bar stool. She's a shallow, shit-witted, disrespectful hypocrite.

8. My late husband could not wear a wedding ring...
Edited on Tue Jul-07-09 10:12 AM by Hepburn
...metal allergies that made his finger blister. He used a pocket watch because of the same problem.

So someone not wearing a wedding band is no biggie to me.

12. She doesn't wear much jewelery at all, if you notice. Mostly discreet earrings.
It has to do with the branch of ultrafundie-ism she belongs to. Many of them wear no jewelery of any kind including wedding rings, etc. Against adornment, dontcha know? All that vanity and everything...

17. The types that support Palin do put a huge emphasis on symbolism
Edited on Tue Jul-07-09 01:24 PM by DeschutesRiver
you'd think her base would be upset that she won't wear her wedding ring symbol.

Out here in our rural community, the mailman who brings the mail to our local postmaster from the nearest big city is apparently convinced that we are "living in sin", and merely pretending that we are married. Why? Because I have a different last name than my husband. I am not kidding you on that - our postmaster couldn't convince him otherwise, as he has "seen the different names on our letters, etc." This was back during the elections and I told our local postmaster to pass onto this bozo that I'd bet him $5000, to go to the cause of my choice, that I could produce proof that we were married. I was gonna donate it to the Obama campaign (and part to the local humane society), in this guy's name and mine; probably the shock of that would have killed him outright. Of course, I never heard back about whether he'd take that bet - chicken:)

Probably wouldn't help either that dh never wears his wedding band (he has gotten it caught on things when he is out working on equipment) and as an old lady, my fingers swell on/off and I can't always get my rings on. I did have them resized but when the size varies so much, you can't even keep up with it. But I am sure the no wedding ring/band thing would just be another nail in our marriage status coffin for this deluded republican mailman.

We've been married 29 years, so I find the whole "last name different means you can't be married" thing really funny. Bet this guy has been divorced more times than I've been married (which is once...).
