Chertoff warns of danger faced by "clean-skinned" terrorists!
http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30000-1259477,00.html

<snip>
The man charged with protecting Americans from terrorist attack has told Sky News he is worried radicalised Britons could try to mount an assault on his country.

Michael Chertoff, the Head of Homeland Security, said the US needed further protection from so-called "clean skins" in Britain or Europe.

That is the name given by the intelligence community to those people who feel alienated but have not come to the attention of the authorities.

As opposed to the dirty-skin Muslims that the intelligence community has been watching for years? I suppose it's nice of them to come out and acknowledge their use of racist-sounding terms to classify "threats".

1. It's not supposed to be a racial reference but I can see how it'd sound that way
But Muslims are being referred to in BOTH cases. And not necessarily Muslims of different physical complexions.

4. racism is woven into the english language
because the language developed in racist societies. People perpetuate and reinforce racist thought on a subconscious level through nuance and connotation, which they learned from others and which was once acceptable. This is why it is to crucial to use politically correct speech, and to call out racist speech: changing language changes the society that uses it.

7. Years ago, the enemies of the U.S. were referred to by the extremely
derogatory term "redskins"...oh, wait, there's still that football team in Washington.
