1. watching only the first half, I come away with this.
self-absorbed. Her description of her coronation was amazing. She was already sworn in privately, BUT she had to have a royal ceremony "for her office" - translation, the little people.

2. I loved how she hemmed and hawed after the reporter asked her

who was paying for the ceremony. She had the audacity to say she was footing the bill for most of it. YEAH RIGHT!

3. and the memo naming local "problem" reporters?
"It doesn't exist."
"What if I told you I have a copy of it?"
"Well I can't do anything about something I know nothing about."

You can bet that she is turning that office upside down trying to find out who dared leak an internal policy memo.
I wonder how long that temporary guy from DC will be there to hold her hand and teach her how to administrate.
In the end, it won't work. She has lost the respect of everyone in that office, and unless and until she replaces everyone with crazy religious folks, she is doomed. But, typically of these deranged people, they don't recognize their own problems. They figure that prayer solves everything.

Finally, some trusted person will have to take her aside and 'splain it to her. "Honey, we are proud of you, but don't you think that you should pray on it, and think about your future?"
I give her a week.
A week of bad editorials, hysterical reactions by her, witchhunts for leakers, and eventually, she will see the light and REJOICE!

"unless and until she replaces everyone with crazy religious folks"--isn't that what's been going on in the entire administration for 6 years now? They just need to step it up now!

5. I liked how she said
it's like all the previous ceremonies they've had in the past....except that it's somewhere fancier and with a lot more people there.

9. She was all poise and wonderfulness until she was hit broadside.
Just exactly how everyone in this loyalist administration reacts.

7. Background questions
First a comment rather than a question: Three ranking members of the Minnesota US Attorney's office quit yesterday, citing Ms. Palou's "dictatorial style."

The question:

Since she was recently appointed, am I incorrect in assuming that she is replacing one of the Gonzales Eight?

12. Yes, you are correct
She is a replacement of the Attorney Purge. Minnesota is an important state in the 2008 election.

13. Not one of the eight HOWEVER
it was an attorney that stepped down because he refused to toe the Bush line...this was previous to the mass firing. I heard this on Keith last night.

15. True, I believe there are almost a dozen attornies involved
over a period of time and possibly even more.

Myself, I doubt each and every one of the current sitting USAs.

14. She has been on the job 14 months
Edited on Sat Apr-07-07 02:37 PM by pscot
The guy she replaced, Hefelfinger, has said he left of his own accord. However, the list of 8 originally contained 3 other names which were elided with the explanation they had already quit. Hefelfinger is presumed to be one of the three. She did not replace one of the "Gonzalez Eight".

8. Kudos to the LOCAL reporter, who asked harder questions in that interview than Leslie Blitzer
has asked in the past 5 years!

That kind of hardnose journalism doesn't get one invites to the White House.

I do solemnly swear to uphold the RNC party line first and foremost and the laws of the State of Minesota if they do not conflict with the goals of the Republican Party, so help me God.
