What do you think the Republicans would do?

1. Well, he did replace all 93 when he took office..
and I would guess that most if not all the replacements were democrats so I don't see the point. USAs are political appointees who are expected to support the policies of the President - don't you think that Clinton vetted them all to ensure that their priorities were his? To his credit, however, he did it the right way at the beginning of his administration. But it was and always will be a very political process with US Attorney offices being used as political payoffs to political allies.

The republicans would scream and yell like the democrats to score political points and try to weaken the President - that's the way the game is played.

3. once and for all.. it is customary tradition for "ALL" of them to give resignations at the turn

of an election.. the new administration can accept or or deny them.. that is how it is done, every time a new president is accepted, it is expected and is custom and tradition

they are NOT FIRED.... so just tell the freepers they don't know what they are talking about and politely explain it to them for what it is worth.

4. Oh, please.
The Bush administration has shown time and time again that it will choose fawning loyalty over competence and experience. We are now finally seeing that they have been doing the same thing to the U.S Attorneys. There is a huge difference between looking for capable attorneys who happen to be Democrats and looking for loyal supporters who will promote an agenda and also happen to be an attorney. Have you been following what is going on in the U.S Attorney's office in Minnesota?

Four of the top officials there (Republicans, most likely) voluntarily demoted themselves only months after young Rachel Paulose took over. Ms. Paulose is a member of the Federalist society, a good friend of Monica Goodling, a former special aide to Alberto himself and apparently has a penchant for quoting Bible verses to go along with her a dictatorial management style. 34 years old and she's copping a dictatorial management style over attorneys that have many more years of experience. Show me where something like that happened six years into Clinton's term.
