Solicitation of $ from Senator Cantwell

I just got a letter from Maria Cantwell asking for money. I was one of the folks who met with her staff before the invasion of Iraq to urge her not to support it. She ignored us, and continued to defend her position through her last election, when Russ Feingold had to come and shore up her support. In the postage-paid reply envelope, I wrote a note telling her that if she votes for single-payer/public-option health care, I'll send her a contribution; if not, I'll support her opponent. I know she's still on the fence on this, and I plan on attending a public meeting with her this afternoon at the UW Lake Union campus on the subject.

I used to live in Washington state and am very familiar with Maria Cantwell's standing behind the Iraq invasion. At least Patty Murray had the sense to oppose it.

when she starts voting like a Democrat.

I SO wish we could field a progressive candidate (or two) that would primary her out of office.
