Sanford NOW admits to 5 liasons with Maria, not 3....
and the lies continue.

Why lie about this. Three? Five? What's the big difference?

There's only two possibilities of why he would lie about this, given that he was "coming clean" on the affair to begin with:

#1 Mrs. Sanford knew about only 3 of the meetings.

#2 Traveling to see her involved state funds.

((I don't have a link. Just heard it on the car radio about 15 minutes ago. Newsreader said it was AP that broke the story.))

3. Reporter getting info from that private dective hired by
John Ensign?

Just kidding, I think. But who really knows, and who gains as Sanford slides further down his own slippery slope?

5. Double standard: Spitzer forced to resign while Sanford sucks up state wages.
Of course Spitzer remains a hero to the working class and Sanford remains loyal to the Republican party. Sanford was more loyal to his party of fraud, liars and philanderers than to his family, his state or his country.

He's already invoked King David
Which means he'll have to go straight to the top--"He knocked up someone else's wife, and no one asked HIM to resign!"

12. It's the hypocrisy we are annoyed with. The man touted morality
and his is seriously lacking.

Olives? Anchovies?

14. Thanks for repeating me. Now get the point. Focusing on Private lives instead of Office Lies

is still stupid.

It's stupid when the Republicans do it, and when you do it in revenge, you still make their point for them, that private trysts should matter so much.

They win either way.

The media would rather tell the public about how "great a father" Obama instead of every bill that Obama has signed into law since he became president (not just the glamorous ones).

Both extremes are part of the problem.

21. It's not about the affair. It's ALL about the hypocrisy. Shoving "family values"
down our throats for decades and then doing everything they can to destroy their own (AND other peoples') families is not private business.

If you love Repukes so much and hate Dems so much, WHY ARE YOU HERE?

Enjoy your stay.

22. Exacting revenge and calling out the epitome of hypocrisy are two totally different things.
Sanford was all over the TV in the 90s saying that because Bill Clinton had broken trust with his wife, that he should remove himself from the White House.

That is a fact, my dear.

He also left his state with no one in charge. That's a matter of public concern.

16. Because in this case,
he abandoned his office without turning power over to the Lt Gov. His hypocracy in all this just makes it worse.

he could have been visiting her every other weekend for ten years and he would only admit to what anyone could prove. which makes him untrustworthy.
