My family and I drove from our home in NC to Anna Maria Island, FL for vacation last week. Lovely place.

As we entered Florida road-space, I was shocked by the number of anti-abortion billboards (matched only by the adverts for Cafe Risque and We Bare All).

On the return trip, coming north through South Carolina, we passed a billboard that nearly made me drive off the road (not to mention throwing up in my mouth)


I'm glad to be back home now, safe in my little enclave of non-rightwing-whackoland.

before finding a non-florida island....

it's a great place full of good people...and is virtually the last 'underdeveloped' (by florida standards) island in florida...

too bad i couldn't have directed a little traffic for you...lots of friends, lots of places to go, and those beaches!!...

We went to Edisto, SC for years for its same "underdevelopedness" and had heard many good things about AMI and found them to be true.

Thankfully, it got so waterstained and decrepit that it was taken down. I'm guessing that the Lord had other plans and didn't want to be thanked for those two disasters.
