In these threads we have heard of the "no fly" list, which barred hundreds of thousands (including Edward Kennedy) from flying.
In these threads we have heard of the "no buy" list, which bars citizens from buying guns IF they appear on the "no fly" list.
Now we hear of outrage that the "terrorist watch" list allows folks to purchase guns.
Does anyone know what "qualifies" one to be on these lists? Does anyone know how to get off these lists? If not, then how can we reconcile a list which restricts ones rights with the protections described in the Fifth Amendment's due process clause? Does this Amendment mean anything to anyone, or is it something to be flushed at first opportunity when our fears/hatreds become too much too handle?
The very act of cantilevering the "no fly" list to a "no buy" list should give one pause.
