Source: New York Daily News

Janet Jackson broke her silence about her brother's death, making a dramatic appearance at the close of Sunday night's BET Awards.

"To you, Michael is an icon. To us, Michael is family," Janet Jackson said, her face quivering with emotion. "And he will forever live in all of our hearts."

Michael Jackson's famous sister said her entire family wanted to speak at the nationally televised show, but they they were too overcome.

"It was just to painful, so they elected me to speak," Janet Jackson said, as tears rolled down the cheeks of many in the audience

Joe was talking on the Red Carpet at the BET. Saw the clip on GMA this morning.

2. I noticed how she said they REALLY REALLY loved Michael and he was FAMILY
if that was the case, they would have yanked his Elvis drug train pass and intervened before it was too late.

But alas, the world will eat this shit up and shake their heads and simply move on until the next celebrity death gives them something to talk about (or make money off of).

3. Plenty of families adore relatives, yet cannot get between them and their drugs, even when the
addict is not rich.

10. Thank you for saying what needed to be said
It is so easy to judge until you walk in the shoes of a family member.

Who among us would not want to stop the addictive behavior of someone that they love?

No, thanks, Janet. Junkie pedophiles have never been my "icon."

11. Wow...
...You saw him molesting children, and never said anything?? You would have a better time over at FreeRepublic, they're full of judgmental venom over there.

16. Actually...
...the media reported almost nothing else for a months, on multiple occasions.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/People_v._Jackson">People V. Jackson

In 1990 Jackson paid off the son of an employee $2 million to stave off a molestation accusation.

In 1994 Jackson paid off a boy for $20 million to stave off a molestation accusation.

In 2003 he was taken into custody for, you guessed it, child molestation charges.

:puke: :puke: Do you see a pattern here??? :puke: :puke:

Sure, he could sing, he could dance....

BUT....think of the children.

17. Jordan Chandler admitted he lied per his douche bag
of a father. That says it all for me about lying ass kids and their fucked up parents. Yeah, I'm thinking about the kids, alright.
I'm sure the truth from the other little scum bags will come out eventually, as well. Want a link? Just google jordan chandler.

13. Did anyone ever try and get him PSYCHIATRIC help?
That is what he so obviously needed. Someone said his mother Katherine said he was diagnosed with Schizophrenia too, when he was little. So why wasn't he (or was he) ever under the care of a shrink? He had plenty of doctors....
