News flash!!! Hell has officially frozen over. (I'm series, this is HUGH!!)
Edited on Sun Jun-28-09 09:25 AM by Fly by night
Here is a link to a thread posted on Free Public yesterday that has Eleanor Roosevelt's column in praise of the Battle of Athens (TN). (Although the Eleanor Roosevelt column posted there uses one title of her column as it appeared around the country, I prefer the title given by the Daily Post Athenian (Athens, TN's paper) when they published her column in August, 1946: "McMinn a warning".)

http://209.157.64.201/focus/f-news/2280871/posts

The freeper thread also includes a link to the "Nashville is Talking" summary on the Battle of Ellis' Farm, when our Republican Secretary of State sent two TN Bureau of Investigation officers to my farm last Tuesday after filing a "terrorist threat against a government official" complaint against me

http://www.nashvilleistalking.com/2009/06/secretary-of-state-makes-unsubstantiated-terrorist-threat-claim/

For the record, this is the first time I've ever visited Free Republic in my life. I certainly do not want to be flagged as a real domestic terrorist by visiting a very far-reich web-site that frequently incites violence against the reich-wing's enemies, including our government.

My favorite posted comment there: "Eleanor Roosevelt on Free Republic? My grandpa would be spinning in his grave if they had had internet when he lived."

Well, it's time to go cut some firewood on this late June day, 'cause there must be one hell of a cold-front heading our way (seriesly).

5. I agree. But if we can find common ground with those reich-wing wackjobs, ...
... then our Tennessee Secretary of State (Tre "Where, oh where, have my little balls gone?" Hargett) is officially SOL.

Serves that POS right.

6. A wise lady told me once

"A whining man is like a drunk woman - they have no dignity left at all!" And Ann, bless her crazy soul, had it right.
And I gotta tell ya, gay, straight,"other", hippie, preppie, town or country - most folks HATE prissy little bitches of any gender or stripe. But they seem to be a good share of what the 'Pugs have left.

And oddly enough, an utter lack of competentence among the PLB's is like their school tie.

7. You're right. Here's a present I am planning for Sec. Hargett
Veterinarians sell what they call "neuticles", which are plastic balls that they sew into the scrota of dogs that have been neutered so they'll have something to lick once their real nuts are removed.

I plan to ask my vet for the smallest set of neuticles he has (say, chihuahua-size) and will present those to Secretary Hargett sown inside a tea-bag, so he can really get off licking 'em.

Joke him if he can't take a fuck.

It was a satisfying but career limiting move.

9. LOL! Good thing I have no official relationship w/ Hargett other than ...
... paying his salary as a Tennessee taxpayer.

13. I have been trying to find common ground with my reich-wing sisters for years,
finally gave up. Reich-wing disease is incurable most of the time.

Good luck with all, Bernie!:hi:

14. Probably yo' mama. That alright with you?
Edited on Mon Jun-29-09 11:31 AM by Fly by night
I didn't post anything on Free Republic, and was surprised to find something there. (I found the FR thread by Googling to see how much the false "terrorist threat" had been picked up by the media.)

However, as DemoDonkey pointed out, support for free, fair and verifiable elections is and should be a non-partisan issue that all of us can support.

But thanks for sharing. I'll be here all week, so be sure to tip your waitress. BTW, I've been here over four years now, as you (and anyone else) can tell by visiting my profile. Since you're one of the few here who hide any personal information about yourself from the rest of us, I have no idea how long you've been here. This is the first time I've ever seen you post anywhere here on DU on anything. I know some trolls know how to rack up 1,000+ posts without the rest of us ever seeing them, but please share that info with the rest of us.

Since I can't let her know any other way, tell yo' mama to please (please) take a bath -- I'll be around to see her shortly.
