Married couple attempt suicide in Clallam Co. jail

A married couple in separate jail cells in Clallam County unsuccessfully attempted to commit suicide at different times earlier this week.

The Peninsula Daily News reports a 32-year-old Nebraska woman arrested on fugitive charges was found with a weak pulse Wednesday night after she strangled herself using a string from her clothing. She was later released to a mental health clinic.

The 32-year-old husband attempted to strangle himself with his underwear the same day, but jail staff stopped him. He was arrested on immigration and domestic violence charges.
