He was a fabulously successful high school football coach who molded men and sent at least four men to the NFL. By all accounts, he was a good man who got murdered by a mentally ill man. Coach Thomas' family actually issued a statement expressing sorrow for the accused murderer and his family. That's rare.

9. My grandmother passed away Monday.

She had a long life - was going on 91 this September. Had a bit more impact on my week than the others, with no disrespect intended to them.

we just have never hear of most of them. But they all have people who love them, and will miss them, and for whom the deaths are just as important if not more so than any three who make the news. And rightly so, IMO
