Gay Exorcism Youtube Video Causes Controversy
The video shows the 16-year-old boy lying on the floor, his body convulsing, as elders of a small Connecticut church cast a “homosexual demon” from his body.

“Rip it from his throat!” a woman yells. “Come on, you homosexual demon! You homosexual spirit, we call you out right now! Loose your grip, Lucifer!”

The 20-minute video posted on YouTube by Manifested Glory Ministries is being called abuse by gay and youth advocates, who are demanding an investigation. But a church official this week denied that the teenager was injured or that the church is prejudiced.

“We believe a man should be with a woman and a woman should be with a man,” the Rev. Patricia McKinney told The Associated Press. “We have nothing against homosexuals. I just don’t agree with their lifestyle.”

The church posted the video on YouTube but has since removed it; it is still available on some Web sites that copied it. The church declined to make the video available for distribution by The Associated Press.

It shows church members standing the youth on his feet by holding him under his arms, and people shouting as organ music plays.

“Come out of his belly,” someone commands. “It’s in the belly — push.”

Later, the teenager is back on the floor, breathing heavily. Then he’s coughing and apparently vomiting into a bag.

“Get another bag,” a participant says. “Make sure you have your gloves.”

9. Well, we've been in trouble for quite a while, then.
That shit comes in and out of fashion. This particular example is certainly reprehensible.

Anyone remember this? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070047/

12. That's still a fairly decent supernatural shocker, though...
Even though it was obviously written by Blatty during a time of such widespread civil unrest that more parents were willing to entertain the notion that their drug addled kid burning bras or flags and dropping out of school was actually POSSESSED instead of simply reacting to and acting out per their social environment.

Also...I don't really think it possible for such things as possession, but I always keep an open mind re phenomena that we simply haven't an understanding of. Let's face it, many things occur in our world that we haven't developed a science to support or fully explain ...like, consciousness lol

Still and all, not a good sign seeing the fundies ramping up the "out demons!" rhetoric.

13. Those fundies are just nitwits, in an "Invent Your Own Religion" church
Not that there aren't plenty of those around! Any jerk can rent a storefront and stuff it full of chairs and, if he's enough of a con artist, get people to give him money.

What a racket!

Hopefully this little kid will wise up and sue them for abuse. And get a big payday.

14. Reminds me of Matt Taibbi's 'The Great Derangement'
Edited on Thu Jun-25-09 02:07 PM by juno jones
and the 'exorcism' scenes in the church with dozens of people 'puking for jesus'. And they weren't just puking homosexual demons, but a grab bag of others including 'intellect', 'astrology', 'anal fissures' and 'hand writing anylysis'.

These people are seriously fucked up.
