Fox justifying(?) Sanford's behaviour:
"Sanford's Mistress Identified as Professional, Passionate and Beautiful Brunette

Details are emerging about South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford's mistress, whom he visited in Argentina last week after his wife told him to leave. "

So it's okay that he went to her because

A) she's beautiful and PASSIONATE and a "professional" who speaks several languages and works out a lot - unlike the dumpy wife who bore FOUR of his children and stays at home with them; and

B) well, the wife TOLD him to leave - so it was a-okay that he went of and had his little jaunt to Argentina.

You know - if the WIFE had of been better, you know - worked out and got her shape back, and somehow was able to be a stay-at-home-mom AND a professional, and - of course - SUBMITTED to her husband's "needs" whenever and however and whatever - then poor old Mark wouldn't've had to cheat on her. It's all her fault, doncha know.

1. Whatever the two women are, having good taste in men (even just on looks!) isn't a shared trait.

Blame all of your actions on the women.

21. No, it's typical Right-wing pro-republican Bias.
Were it ONLY male POV, the same logic would have applied to the Clinton/Lewinski affair.

No woman I can recall has been more assailed as unattractive than Hillary Clinton during the Clinton ADmins heyday, and you would think the male POV would have sympathy for Bill Clinton getting some on the side, even with what the male POV would term as a chubby chick.

But no, Bill Clinton was criticised as unfaithful, Hillery was criticised as ugly, Lewinski was criticised as a bimbo, and only the Right Wing was pure and chaste enough to lead the nation.

But Sanford? He's one of their guys. So different standards apply.

And frankly, they are thanking their lucky stars for the fact that he was having an affair with a WOMAN! Whew!

So this has less to do with male pigishness, and more to do with pure political partisanship.

That's only a misty fantasy for most men. Mr. Lucky got to live the dream!

5. When I told my wife the girl I'd been seeing was "beautiful, passionate, and professional",
she was all, "Oh, o.k."

What a gal! Nice enough to have my boys and raise them while I'm running around, just not very beautiful, passionate, and professional. Poor kid.

6. MSNBC is doing the poor Mark Sanford story.. All you skirt chasers
out there --Have a News Conference and Cry and Ramble. MSNBC
will think he is so honest.

Lesson Take Away --Cry. Cry Cry.

Now, Let me say this. My own belief is that there should be
a separation of the personal life and the public life. I find
it disgusting how we spend time on candidates trying to find
a Sex Sin. It has gotten so bad that good and deserving
people with real leadership ability run away from the idea
of serving the country. They will not put their family through
this. Since we are in need of leaders, I say we should look for
leaders. Our society being as it is, People are going to have
sexual falls. This should not be the litmus test.

Now back to Sanford. I have now heard 3 reports including yesterday
at Fox. A large newspaper in SC new about the affair and was sitting
on it for months. The Disappearance Behavior forced their hand.

I cannot help but note how differently Fox and MSNBC treated Edwars
and Sanford.

They say Edwards cannot consider a return to any type of Public
Life and there is MSNBC practically in tears themselves for
Sanford.

Shallow shallow shallow and no beliefs of their own.

9. Are you watching Morning Joe?
I could see those assclowns boohooing in that way. Or is this the new morning show guy? Or just a regular morning idiot for MSNBC?

I can't tolerate them before 5 pm and Chris Matthews, who is usually at least tolerable for the most part. Of course I love Rachel and Keith annd am very pleased with Ed, especially his Psycho Talk segment. I was afraid Ed woud be like Bad Chris, judging from what I'd heard people critiquing his radio show, but he really is a liberal and proud of it on TV. But they need new programming in the AM and weekends.

10.  Last night on television someone (don't recall who) said "These jobs have a lot of pressure."
So I guess the excuse is have sex with someone other than your wife to relieve the pressure so your head doesn't explode? I think that is one of the poorest excuses I have ever heard.

16. My question(s) to Sanford from another thread (and on my journal)
::raising hand & waving:: I have a question for Sanford! I have a question!

Governor, since loving, devoted gay couples can not have their marriages accepted across this great nation yet, and since your marriage went down the crapper anyway, would you admit DOMA is a complete failure at defending marriage and a farce, used solely as a GOP cash cow wedge issue?

Follow-up question: Will you now spearhead a movement to ban a real threat to marriage in America: selfish philanders in politics who put their dicks ahead of their wives, children, constituents, and country?

18. That bullshit rationalization/apologetic cuts both ways, male and female.
Engaged for nearly 2 years, my then-fiancee chose to get married before I shipped over to Viet Nam. Married in November, she "lasted" until about June ... and was sleeping overnight with her lover the night I returned from Nam the next November. Similar instances of infidelity were LEGION in those days. After all, it was soooo "tough" to have a husband/boyfriend as a "baby-killer" and not there to "satisfy her needs." In other words, IT WAS MY FAULT.

Fast forward.

Married to my second wife for 12 years, it became apparent (unavoidably obvious) that she was having affairs with coworkers ... and was 'vacationing' (under the cover of a lie about a "business trip") with her lover. Yes ... again the whispering back-stabbing was that somehow I wasn't "meeting her needs" ... which is the common attitude towards cuckolded husbands. She'd even gained the complicity of 'friends' who knew of her affairs and "didn't want to get involved" by telling me.

So ... I have NO PATIENCE whatsoever with anyone that wants to grind the ax of sexism and claim that men get some kind of pass. Bullshit.
