Ole faithful
men....
women...
ok, maybe I'm going through a divorce to a man
and wonder that it seems the stars aligning for breakups
and divorces right now and can anyone afford to start a
new household, with that extra coffee grinder
and pot, good knives and the Cuisinart...?

He's cheating. On me. Sanford's cheating and
that means he's cheating on you too. When
his head should be on expanding health coverage
for all of us, it's in Sud America, thinking
about his next trip into the deep south paid for
by the international relations committee he isn't even on
and taxpayers.

But meanwhile the ole faithful are sputtering...
on either side...

and Ms. Dowd, if you borrow, you attribute.
I don't get the big bucks, but a nod every once
in awhile would be supportive, especially to
a fella gal.

1. talkin to myself
and while I'm doing that...

and when divorcing and middle aged...we're
afraid of eventually dating those men who
have a divorce or two behind them and kids
who are pissed off at the first divorce
and who don't want to be your friend or
anything else...

I may have to get those women bonding books
out of boxes again...

2. and sex....
after a certain age, things go a little Sahara desert.
We think, will things get juicier again?
Do we need some help?
Do we insist on condoms?
Does it matter?

Will we fall in love?
Love and juiciness...wow.

younger men...yum.
older men...yeah.

not that older...

champagne and lobster...yeah.
some fun...finally. YES!

4. cheaters.

There's really nothing redemptive about cheaters.
Coz they are going to cheat again.
No doubt.
Cheating with women. Cheating with men.
It makes you a liar. You want to cheat.
Get out before you cheat.
Don't hedge your bets. Don't bridge
your relationships.
Get the fuck out.

Coz that's the end of the trust. period.

5. The Big Cheaters
My husband (almost not) and I
used to laugh and make derisions
about Barry Bonds. He bought
those foam asterisks.

But who's the big cheater now.

I understand if two people are stuck.
Not able to do things differently.
Not able to poke and prod and have
some laughs. And someone wants to
finally break that pattern.
I'm glad the pattern's broken, but
isn't there a better way to do that...
shots of tequila?

I hate being an asterisk to an
ass terisk.

6. and this is why historic romances are a booming business....
what woman doesn't love a man in skin-tight
pants who bows over one's hand, can dance,
ride a horse and satisfy a woman before
satisfying himself.

I predict the film "Cheri" will be
this summer's Sex in the City.

7. and then you wonder who is the other woman....
is she the gal behind the information
desk at Gelsens? The old girlfriend
looking for the old standby after
her divorce? Or a fit gym rat "working
out" with your husband?

Does she know yet that he constantly
clears his throat after eating or that
he clicks his fingernails together
distractedly or that he isn't good
at organizing or playing except with
other guys? Does she know that he
now carries baggage from his first
and second marriages...stuff not worked
out.

Does she think that the sex is that
good?

I wonder.
