1. Rock and a hard place for Library Staffs.
Required by law to keep patron's check out records confidential.

Required by Patriot Act and people who are into abuse of power to surrender such info.

Best defense: a computer check-out that deletes info when materials are returned. No records of past check outs to turn over.

There is a war going on at a lot of libraries. And staffs aren't allowed to tell you about the bad stuff.
