How fucking difficult is it to stay faithful to your partner or GET A DIVORCE and fuck whomever you want? And it's not just the wives, it's the kids who suffer from having their family humiliated on a public stage.

/rant off.

2. Yes.
It seems that a lot of politicians want to have their cake, and eat it too.

3. It does get old after a while
Don't they realize they are in a fishbowl?

Of course it's worse when they are also preaching to us about how we should live as so many are (mostly Republicans, ironically enough).

4. I don't really care what they do in their personal lives.
I don't want to hear about it. If it affects their ability to do their job (see Sanford, etc.), then it might be relevant, but only to that extent.

as long as they quit preaching their 'family values' sermons and 'defending the sanctity of marriage.'

Give me a fucking break.

they don't have to be failthful to anyone, least of all their "wife."

Ugh. Spare me being in a relationship with any of these wackos.

6. there is plenty wrong with his actions
but, like you, I feel worse for his innocent kids....
it is just utter raw selfishness to not give a thought about how these acts affect his kids..Those are the ones to whom he should get down on his knees and beg their forgiveness

that is reprehensible!!

9. The whole family gets shamed so the @sshole can have one minute
of expiation. That's probably worse than the original trauma. Nobody is really thinking of the kids. It's horrible, agreed.

10. It appears we are not a naturally monogamous species.
For better or for worse, that's what it appears. To make us all universally monogamous, we'd have to be a different species.

Personally, I love hearing Republicans apologize for their many failings. They have so many, and they apologize so seldom.

11. the problem is that there are men who think that they can do whatever they want.
they want to have their cake and eat it to. personally, i think guys like that have no respect for women. sure, there are things that happen in relationships where people may not be getting what they need from their spouse or partner... but some of them it seems think there are different standards for them or something. i don't know.

14. I feel very sorry for his sons, most of all
His wife is an adult, I think she can handle it, and has known about it for 5 months, but his sons, that's gotta be rough for them. My ex left me when my kids were 3,3 and 4. I know it hurt them.

19. We need to stop the political suicide if they divorce
on both sides. That is why this happens. They know to divorce is suicide politically so they stay in bad marriages and the wives stay because they like the life style and just put up with it or husbands buy them off.

We need divorce to be okay...why is it we think our leaders are suppose to be better than us? we think they can lead even more stressful lives but not have marriage problems separated from each other for months at a time. Many wives don't live in DC with husbands.

Either that or all our leaders should be single so they can focus on the issues at hand and screw who ever they want.

28. Apologizing is for losers. Ya did it, it's over...
everyone deal with it.

If you're a big and stupid enough shit to do it in the first case, and then get caught on top of that, no apology can possibly work-- just take your lumps.

(I didn't notice this when I started my thread on the same theme, sorta.)
