3. what is the matter w/ the man
Courtyard Suites with a sliding 1st floor door is not good enough?

He had to go to fly to Argentina w/ his lover?

According to The AP:

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Gov. Mark Sanford told a newspaper he was in Argentina, not hiking the Appalachian Trail as his staff had told the public to explain his sudden absence.
He said he "wanted to do something exotic" to unwind after losing a fight over federal stimulus money.

The State newspaper reported that Sanford arrived Wednesday morning at Atlanta's international airport on a flight from Buenos Aires, where he drove along the coast of
what he called a "beautiful" city.

The Republican governor told the South Carolina newspaper he considering hiking, but at the last minute changed his mind.

"But I said 'no' I wanted to do something exotic," Sanford told the newspaper.

4. Here's the kicker for me:
Edited on Wed Jun-24-09 02:16 PM by Richardo
He declined to give any additional details about what he did other than to say he was alone and that he drove along the coastline.

Trying to drive along the coast could frustrate a weekend visitor to Argentina. In Buenos Aires, the Avenida Costanera is the only coastal road, and it's less than two miles long. Reaching coastal resorts to the south requires a drive of nearly four hours on an inland highway with views of endless cattle ranches. To the north is a river delta of islands reached only by boat.

Hey moron, look at a roadmap before you spin your tale - you know everyone else will :dunce:

9. He didn't check the Appalachian Trail websites before planting that story.
When he claimed to be hiking during Summer Solstice Nude Hiking weekend.

Planning is not really part of his forte.

5. I don't think they intentionally lied
After all, "Appalachian Trail" and "Argentinian Tail" could sound a lot alike on the phone. :D

Look we all flawed humans but it is the hypocrisy that gets me.
No doubt he called for Clinton to resign and is a member of a
"bible based church" w/ family values.

7. exactly
and what never ceases to amaze me is how Clinton's affair is always used as an indictment of the entire Democratic party, but somehow these repuke affairs are "isolated incidents" :eyes:
