How can you profess to love the country at the same time hating to make it beautiful?

Does anyone else see the hypocrisy in this?

Conservatives are always pounding their chests chanting USA! USA!, we're number one !, we're number one!.....

But when it comes time to make it a beautiful, safe, clean and just place to live (i.e., paying taxes) they high tail it the other way chanting - don't tread on me!

I can understand a mistrust of government vis-a-vis a love for the country but, it is me and you collectively, through government, that make the USA beautiful...
