antifacista2 First US kills Iraqi civilians and now they are trying a coup on Iran. #IranElection Tehran

You be the judge.

By the way here is a little contest... the government of Iran is ramping up the anti western rhetoric that the Great Satan is behind this small revolt in the streets, as well as the british.

2. Just to throw another variable into the mix...
there's a site tracking messages on Twitter and marking repeated messages and anomalies as spam, then posting those accounts here: http://twitspam.org/?p=1403

That message you quoted is one coming from several users, verbatim, with no attribution or repost tag.

3. Ah you mean a more sophisticated gov'ment operation than the
beginning class at security services U?

You are right that actually is easy as pie to do once you set it up.

Still this is kind of desperate and lame propaganda.

Hey the great satan is running a coup even when it is not. Amusing as well..

<------- batten down hatches, don't ask.

4. I wonder myself about the sophistication of such spam.
High-level operation? Bureaucratic brainstorm -- get some crap out on Twitter!? Hardline sympathizers jumping into the mix independently?

Not sure, but these examples are amateurish. Add to the noise... which is probably the point of it...

5. And chiefly cover for the more experienced people to try to root out the
real Iranians from all those sons of satan who have reset their time zones to Tehran on Tweeter, but if they were a little more sophisticated, their system to.

6. Indeed.
And we have to ask what audience these lame attempts are aimed at. Most likely just trying to discourage those people most likely to be discouraged, drive down the traffic, make the sorting process easier for those trying to sift through the messages for local Iranian tweeters. Not high-level purposes, but stamp down some of the weeds to clear the view a bit.
