they were all over the tv defending torture. i'm not hearing from them anymore. after what we have seen in the past week, i'm thinking it might be harder for anyone to defend certain tactics used by the state against "enemies".

If Iran begins to torture dissidents. Obama might say something about that. Of course everyone in the world will reply, SHUT THE FUCK UP! If you're not going to do anything about America's uses of torture. Torture you can actually do something about. Then you don't have any business saying anything about any other countries uses of torture. Though you do not explicitly approve of it's uses. You most certainly do tacitly approve of it's uses. So Cheney is probably preparing to flee in case Obama suddenly comes down with a bad case of ethics with moral complications. But then again, apparently DC can cure that disease real quick.

does it matter if he doesn't do anything about our people who committed certain acts ?

one reason the iranian people and others in the muslim world trusted him was because he acknowledged the wrongs we have done when it came to muslims. he acknowledged our overthrowing democratic gov in Iran.

when people say he needs to do something, sometimes you can be more effective by doing something about your own and being an example.

13. GOP made a backroom deal with Obama

The GOP is rolling over on all Dem Legislative items in return for Obama keeping photos secret.

Torture was made political by Bush and GOP so now facing potential crushing public anomosity and even criminal prosecution...evidence is made secret by Obama...he said he wanted to leave it behind and he is.

But not before showing the GOP that the torture card can be played at any time and send the tattered remains of the conservative movment and it's leaders to jail.
