I've been reading a few people consistently, people whose stories are reliable so far, backed up by video.

Apparently the military was ready for them, dispersing crowds before they got anywhere near the squares, first with water cannon and clubs and then with live ammo, tear gas, and some sort of vesicant dropped from helicopters.

Reports are that embassies are taking wounded in if they can get past the goons outside.
