I've been noticing that a lot lately. Even at the tea party protest I ran into a super nice family that gave me free lemonade. Even though I was standing there with a pro-Obama/liberal sign. The father even had a really long conversation with me. They seemed like genuinely nice people.

I can't help but wonder how many republicans are republicans because that's all they know.

1. maybe they are with us for some elections or candidates

Nancy Boyda gots lots of Republican votes in her 2006 victory over the incumbent Ryun. I even saw an elected official who is a Republican wearing a Boyda pin. I had a number of people tell me that they were voting for Obama, in spite of being Republicans, and I think it is likely that our State Senator and State Representative candidates picked up Republican votes.

Of course, in Kansas, some of our Democratic State Representatives are pretty darn close to moderate Republicans - they are anti-choice, pro gun, and also favored the Holcombe power plant.
