5. Voting for Dems doesn't seem to be the answer.
There seems to be a transformation that happens in Washington.

9. Million person march to Congress?
We have to be there in numbers because that is where the law is being made. Is there something being planned? I know that there is The Great American Sickout on June 25th with a rally planned to gather at the Washington Monument, but is it too soon? When will be the best time to catch Congress before they leave for August vacations? I can only do this once so I want to make it at the time that is best and with the largest crowd demonstrating for this.

20. Hubby and I have said the same thing - there needs to be a HUGE march on Congress. We would be
there, but, like you, we wouldn't have the time or money to do it more than once.

14. Yes. If they don't get it right this time, I think alot of people will
just consider this round 1, and the fight will continue. There are too many Americans out there that want decent health reform, and many organizations, labor unions, etc that want single payer, and from what I read, they are growing.

16. I'm getting old. Round one was 1948.
With all the effort at electing Dems and working on them, I don't have enough left in me for another round.
If they can't get it done with the white house, Senate and House I don't know what else could make a difference.

34. I hope you are right
But I doubt it. Obama roused a lot of people who normally sit back. But if there is no change, or worse they put in a forced payment without a guarantee of real health care, those people are going to be even more cynical than they were to start.

There's a big difference between wanting something and putting effort in to getting it.

26. IMO we need to put all our efforts into this issue when it comes up and
if that means taking to the streets than that is what we do. We need to organize our efforts the way we did when people were still marching in the streets against the war. I want a million strong or more peacefully marching from the WH to the capital and staying there for as long as it takes. I want us to help people who cannot afford to go with travel expenses. Especially disabled persons. I want our leaders on Health care (Kennedy, Conyers, Elizabeth Edwards, Howard Dean) to join us.

The problem that we need an organizer and the only one I know is President of the United States.

31. Maybe we could get some of the law makers who are in favor of
real health reform to lead us. Off the top of my head, there is Dennis Kucinich, John Conyers, and Bernie Sanders. They might have people who worked on their campaigns to organize something like this. Back in the sixties we had Abbie Hoffman, Tom Hayden and the rest who could do it.

32. Any Health Provider you go to....
They have you list who is the responsible party for paying the bill.

By all means, list your Senators and/or your Representative, their HOME address, and HOME telephone numbers.*

Piss on them, they got us in this mess, then turn their backs on us, so they DO deserve it!

*Photocopy their names and billing information, and hand it out to uninsured people as well.

33. Wait and watch the R's drown our representatives with their own
idiotic legislation, and take it all back next election. Ive called. Ive emailed. What else is there that I can do. Sometimes you cant save stupid(or greedy). They don't seem to get that there isn't enough money in the insurance coffers to make up for the negative "they forced you to pay, and you still didn't really get coverage" ads that are probably already being made.
