Change is coming!
These pictures are from today's rally in Tehran.

I can report to you that the rallies in Tehran have been largely peaceful in the past two days. Unfortunately the same can not be said about other cities. :(

4. Looks just like all those pictures of the Obama rallies
I just hope the Iranians get real change -- instead of a sucker punch

5. When we're willing to do what they are doing
maybe we'll deserve it.

We already had our Iran Election in 2000, and again in 2004. We wimped. We are still dealing with the aftershocks from letting the government decide if the government was right. When Americans are willing to face down clubs and bullets to make sure their votes are counted, we'll deserve Real Change™. Not before.

In the meantime, Obama's the best hope we've got.

6. What's the story behind the taped mouths?
Edited on Thu Jun-18-09 07:16 PM by hootinholler
I understand Green is the color, but the taped mouth? Silenced?

Obviously I'm missing the symbology.

7. I think I saw something about they wanted to mitigate the
violence....if the world and Iranian citizens see the Iranian government attacking and slaughtering silent protesters then all hell will break loose.

The religious leaders are in a pickle and they are in unfamiliar territory if they make a wrong move they can destroy their status and power.

The protesters are also looking at Ghandi's silent non-violent protests as a roadmap for their protests.
