Didn't all those young adults in the streets of Tehran get indoctrinated?

Koppel was over there last year showing little school children being drilled in assemblies to chant Death to America and God is Great.

What happened to the generation who are protesting? Didn't they receive the same indoctrination? If so, why didn't it take or why did it wear off?

Is North Korean indoctrination of its own youth more effective than that inflicted on Iranian children? Can we expect to see the same unrest in Pyongyang at some point?

1. An explanation I heard was that the Iranians know they are being

propagandized so they don't pay attention to the indoctrination except maybe some lip service so they don't become interesting to the authorities. The Russians under the Soviets also didn't swallow it whole either. Our Kool-Aid drinkers, on the other hand, swallow every lie told to them. :shrug:

The Russians knew they were being brainwashed. They took PRAVDA with a grain of salt. Most people on the planet aren't fooled unless they want to be. Now it could be that America has the most sophisticated propaganda machine on the planet (doubtful, but we certainly have a willing populace), but the truth is, Americans are probably the most brainwashed people on the planet. I said that years ago, and I stand by my statement.

One edit: In line with another post here, education is probably the most effective tool in helping ones mind with demolishing propaganda.

You have to realize, this isn't a "new way," this is simply a massive bifurcation in the revolution.

Mir Mousavi is a product of that revolution, as is Assholemadinejad. It's just that Mir wants to take the path that returns Iran to the community of nations, and Asshole (and apparently the Supreme Leader he's got in his pocket) want to stay on a GeorgeBushian "terra, terra, terra--watch out--the Great Satan Ahmrika is gonna gitcha!!!" path, where the population is kept on high alert and told to be aggressively suspicious of anything or anyone from the west.
