Well I had to retire Dietrich my guidedog
his puppy raiser family in California adopted him back/
He was getting sensative to noises, like motorcycles.
And decided to become protective around other dogs.
I will be getting a new guide in June, I hope. Well, Dietrich put up with me for five years, but I wish he could still be working
tony without guidedog dietrich

1. Awww, that's sad. At least he's moving on to a new and hopefully
happy place. Best wishes during your transition, and good luck with your new guide.

4. it was really hard...
The dog school took him back when I was recovering from shoulder surgery.
They called me up later, and we decided to retire him in California instead of sending him back to Florida
So I really never got to see him again after the school took him

8. That had to be painful. Hope you have no problems with your next one.
But, it's for the best that you get a dog without the sensitivities that could effect your safety.

Nice to see you here again.

9. Five years is a long time, and to have been such an important part of your life
makes it all the harder -- wishing you much success with your new companion.

6. Hi Tony.. Where ya been?
I bet you'll love your new baby:)

We donated a lab baby once upon a time.. She was a brilliant seeing eye dog.. even made the local paper when she "saved" her person ..

It broke my heart to hand over that little black bundle of fur, but she was a gem , and was well loved her entire life :)
