questions about WIA and TAA for Workers
i found this:

http://www.doleta.gov/tradeact/

and i found this:

http://www.doleta.gov/USWORKFORCE/WIA/act.cfm

but what i'm trying to figure out is how this ties into assistance for college. i keep hearing people tell me if you lose your job you somehow how get your college tuition magically paid for, or a large chunk of it. or they will provide money for you to start school.

i've looked at both of these until my eyes cross and don't see anything regarding college assistance at all. am i missing something?

1. WIA is state funded taa is federal
funded. If you lose your job due to free trade, you apply to be allowed into the program, much easier with a union. If you are accepted you choose a career path, must be a clear path.So unless you are close to your bachelors it'll be a tech school. They pay everything 100 percent including mileage, and you get unemployment for 2 years, also the amount of time allotted for school. There are special insurance perks too but I'm not sure how they work.I'm in the program now and it has worked great so far.I think I covered it,but I may have missed somethings.Any more questions?

2. 1. thank you!!!! 2. ...
is it the WIA that pays for school?

also, you mentioned that unless you're close to your BS/BA it'll be a tech school. does that mean for someone that has no college they would not be able to pursue an AA or BS(or BA), but instead would have to go to a tech school?

i just want to make sure i get this right.

BTW, thank you again!!!!

3. Right no schooling, they won't pay
for only the 1st two years. The WIA is kind of the fill in it pays any cost the taa doesn't.I would imagine the WIA is different by state. If you can get into the fed program you have it made. They pay everything if your class calls for a laptop they pay mechanic tools they pay. It's awesome.
