Army ignoring regulations and admitting Neo-Nazis into military
http://www.salon.com/news/feature/2009/06/15/neo_nazis_army/

Army regulations prohibit soldiers from participating in racist groups, and recruiters are instructed to keep an eye out for suspicious tattoos. Before signing on the dotted line, enlistees are required to explain any tattoos. At a Tampa recruitment office, though, Fogarty sailed right through the signup process. "They just told me to write an explanation of each tattoo, and I made up some stuff, and that was that," he says. Soon he was posted to Fort Stewart in Georgia, where he became part of the 3rd Infantry Division.

Fogarty's ex-girlfriend, intent on destroying his new military career, sent a dossier of photographs to Fort Stewart. The photos showed Fogarty attending white supremacist rallies and performing with his band, Attack. "They hauled me before some sort of committee and showed me the pictures," Fogarty says. "I just denied them and said my girlfriend was a spiteful bitch." He adds: "They knew what I was about. But they let it go because I'm a great soldier."

In 2003, Fogarty was sent to Iraq. For two years he served in the military police, escorting officers, including generals, around the hostile country. He says he was granted top-secret clearance and access to battle plans. Fogarty speaks with regret that he "never had any kill counts." But he says his time in Iraq increased his racist resolve.

1. Why do you hate America?
You got a problem with us supplying right-wing terrorists with highly specialized weapons training?

:sarcasm:

8. Most people are bright enough to not want to enlist as corporate mercenaries
The people realize the military doesn't have fuck all to do with "defending your country," and other such nonsense, and so that leaves em having to rope in those who either don't know any better (wow) and/or those sadist fucks who simply enjoy the type of hostile environment the military offers. So it's not surprising who would turn up and be accepted ... I mean, hey, if these guys already have a hard on for inflicting violence and death than that's that much less work (brainwashing) the military has to accomplish before sending em over to kill and be killed.

10. Well, take for example the significant % who earnestly buy into the two party ruse...
...they can't bring themselves to see that it's quite by design in how it serves to maintain the framing of a narrow ideological spectrum which favors corporate, right-wing aims and goals ... however, at least they're on the right (left) side of many issues, although misdirected. My point is, even many of those good, average folks know better when it comes to the military. I know many young people I work around (18 - 25) and most aren't indifferent re the military - they're AGAINST it, and what it represents. The powers that be here know this is a HUGE problem for them as winning "hearts and minds" is nigh fucking impossible. Thank god ;)

11. Yeah that must be it...
Thank god you are so smart that you saw right through their simple little plan. What would the masses do without this blazing glory of insight?

:eyes: sheesh....

14. Do it all you like...
but it would be to your benefit to have some solid points and not speak about something which you are obviously ignorant.

While I feel no need to go point by point with you I will say that I've given food, water, clothes, toys and security to communities in Afghanistan while at the same time removing murderers, terrorists and every sort of criminal from those same communities.

Speak all you like, hate us all you like but without facts or at least more information than can be gleamed from a quick glance at LBN you just come off as ignorant.

16. I've had friends, co-workers, extended family members who are/were in
Plenty of firsthand experiences with them to reinforce what I already knew. And don't put words in my mouth to suit your point: I never said I "hated" anyone in the military. There's a substantial difference between being morally opposed to what the military represents and does versus sizing someone I know up (who is or was in the military) based on their views, attitudes, prejudices, actions, choices, etc. Does the military contribute some to humanitarian efforts? Yes. They also kill a fucking ton of people, and represent the armed force of corporate power.

17. For extra credit...
All of those "friends, co-workers, extended family members " of yours....

According to your post #8 we are all in two categories "those who either don't know any better (wow) and/or those sadist fucks"

So for all your friends and family were they stupid or sadist in your enlightened opinion? :eyes:
