Lieberman: Obama should consider keeping 'humane' Guantanamo open
“Though I understand the President had a good intention in saying that he would close Guantanamo, because Guantanamo has become a symbol for past bad behavior by the United States, but maybe we just have to say, look, today it’s as humane a facility as you’re gonna find for prisoners of war, and we have to explain to the rest of the world that that’s the place we have chosen to keep prisoners of war.”

So 41 detainees attempted suicide - 5 successfully - because they couldn't stand the warm and fuzzy treatment any longer? I guess the people who wrote the Red Cross report stating flat out the inmates were tortured were lying. And those photographs of detainees in orange suits bent double on the ground in chains are obviously Photoshopped. And I suppose a lot of prisoners were just really, really thirsty, and we were just being hospitable hosts in giving them all that water.

:sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm:

Guantanamo is humane? :grr: If it weren't for the whole 60 seats thing (for when Franken is finally seated)I'd really want Harry Reid to kick Lieberman to the curb. We don't need this kind of 'humanity' in the Democratic Party.

4. The US needs a free press or an opposition party.
We can't keep living in this land of lies or at least I can't without going crazy.

5. There's only one (1) reason to keep GITMO open, and it's illegal.
Why does this man insist on humiliating the people of CT every chance he gets? They've suffered enough. We all have.

why don't they commit a crime and get sent to prison for life, if they think the life is soooooooo good?

12. We should send
every single person who thinks it's like a holiday camp. See how long they'll want it open then. Most of them wouldn't last 5 minutes.
