Families take action against MoD
Edited on Thu Apr-05-07 03:30 PM by madeline_con
The family of a Gwynedd soldier are taking legal action against the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for what they call a lack of support when he returned from Iraq.

He is one of more than 3,000 soldiers who went absent without leave (AWOL), after claiming they could not cope.

Many families are now taking action, claiming the Army did not recognise the men needed medical help.

The MoD said processes are in place to identify personnel who need support.

The Gwynedd soldier - who did not wish to be identified for fear of reprisals from the military - said he had recurring nightmares after his return from Iraq, but that the Army refused to believe him.
