Is anyone watch Ahmadinejad on TV right now ? trying to convince people he really won
and how it's the foreigners who are disputing things. the whole thing is a joke but it's really fascinating to watch.

but from watching this i think he and the Islamic Clerics must be really worried. they weren't expecting what happened.

the real results probably weren't even close but a landslide for Mousavi.

3. That's probably right. There was no boycott this time.
Is he in a studio speaking or out in public?

4. in studio which says a lot also, they probably don't trust an open event
where people would protest against him.

this thing is kind of like those phony scripted news conferences Bush always had.

5. Have CNN on now. Yes, it looks scripted.

Cf with a young WJ caller from Teheran just now, he was angry and upset and said that their votes had been stolen, not even counted. He says the Islamic police (?) are out on the street hitting bystanders with impunity.

On the other hand, I read a Reuters report that said quiet has returned although the social networking sitss are down, the opposition sites are down, and that tens of reformists have been jailed.

that political prisoners would not be executed. And the sap is talking around the question in his reply. "The judiciary in Iran is fully independent".

8. God Bless Robert Fisk!! He just asked Ahmadinejad about the execution of a 22-year-old girl being
executed. What I like about Fisk is that he will challenge anyone and everyone about atrocities without bias or prejudice.

11. Fisk's question seemed out of place in an otherwise scripted event
i really don't think he was expecting that. it also sounded different when Fisk asked. you could hear Fisk clearly while the others seemed to flow more smoothly. i think the translator wasn't sure what to do when Fisk asked that.

12. Iran Daily reporter asked what Ahmadinejad thought about the analysis
that a large silent majority of Iranians were not on board with the government. Ahmadinejad tossed out a bunch of numbers and basically said that idea was without merit.

to cultural life in Iran -- arts, cinema and so on. Ahmadinejad said the arts were flourishing.

Edited on Sun Jun-14-09 07:11 AM by EFerrari
Iran will be stable no matter who the so called winner is because that winner doesn't have very much real power. That is the subtext of his dancing around the questions of fairness and the safety of opposition officials. He's saying the election doesn't matter.

27. Ahmadinejad is not as powerless as many make out
he's neither an autonomous leader who wields absolute power or a mere puppet of the Supreme Council. The truth lies somewhere between those two polarities.

36. This is how you hold a fake election.
It's not very much trouble. You don't need to count the votes.

In this case, a few people will be hit over the head and the United States will make some critical remarks which only helps Ahmedinejad's "party".

There really isn't a down side unless the reformers really get out of hand.

Altered the DNA a bit to make various ethnicities and then sold him around the world to countries that need stupid puppet Presidents. Mengele's work I suspect.
