Quantum of Solace and Environmentalists
How do people here feel about the treatment of environmentalists in Quantum of Solace? Although the movie only featured one supposed environmentalists, the portrayal of the environmentalist seems to be negative. In the movie it seems that the supposed environmentalist is portrayed as a person who is only using the environmental movement as a smoke screen in order to raise funds to buy up land and resources in order to make himself a profit. It seems from the movie that the company the environmentalist owns and runs is only a front to gain control over certain pieces of land and them profit from the resources of the land while allowing the land to be destroyed.

I realize the movie only portrays one environmentalist. However, it seems that certain people would try to use the movie in order to make every environmentalist out to be a person who is only using the environmental movement.

I do not hate Quantum of Solace because of its portrayal of environmentalists. I do think the movie overall was not one of the best Bond movies. I think Casino Royale was better and many of the previous Bond movies were much better.

So what do others think about the way the environmentalist in Quantum of Solace is portrayed. Did the movie in any way make environmentalists look bad. Am I just overreacting? I am not angry about the portrayal, but maybe I am making too much of the way the movie was written.

1. A relative thought the movie was too full of its politics to be bothered to tell a story.
I didn't care about the environmental fluff; just more topical gibber that takes the place of something called "Entertainment" these days.

I hated the movie because the plot was a hackneyed mess. Thankfully it's got some great actors and good action scenes, but a plot it was not. Not today, not any day...

2. I liked that he was an environmentalist.
Most of the villains in deSade's stories had highly respectable jobs.
